Change and a Jingle
While we are now about to celebrate Christmas i dare say the jig is up. Times have been tough with the recession and all, such that everyone is quite shy of spending this season. With the sun high noon scorching and having us run to some shade this year the smell of the Christmas pastries is something i miss even my neighbours have not travelled and this is normally the case this time of the year but all i hear is the neighbours kids screaming and screeching joyfully down the corridor. Yes times have changed, the quiet I seek seems to be elusive. But as Margo Adair once said, "there is no state of fulfilment, each change opens new doors and ushers in new possibilities". So true but the truth from my point as an artist is if you are having one such spells, take a trip, meet new people, take a class mix up some different mediums , work outside the envelop, try something different. Because, all changes even the most longed for have their melancholy; for what we leave behind is part of ourselves; for morphing and trying something new is great fun and good for the soul.
