New Year's Eve

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. There is no real security in what is no longer meaningful.
There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power.

-Alan Cohen

Here's wishing you all a wonderful New Year!

New Works

The studies below were created while I was an artist in residence at theVermont Studio Center, during Occupy Wall Street a protest movement against economic inequality and the influence of money in politics in September 2011. It gave rise to the wider occupy movement in the States and other countries.

My work in response to it, examined our interconnectedness and how these events affected the economies of countries all over the globe. The layering of cut outs from magazines and newspapers, imbuing the work with new meaning. The use of typography, texts lifted from magazines, and newspapers with their self reflective prose exploring this interconnectedness.
